Wat Rong Khun or Atlantis Mirage?

Wat Rong Khun is the famous white temple Chiang Rai is known for. But the truth is, it isn’t really a temple. Its an art exhibit privately owned by the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who also designed the place and added touches of pop culture to the trees and road cones and the inner walls of the temple.

Open all year round, no charge for entrance fee, lovely place when the sun is shining. What’s not to love right?

TIP: Go in the morning when there are less people. (i went both in the day and noon. Noon at the temple was really dull and crowded)
TIP: If you are wearing shorts/mini skirt, bring a scarf along to cover your thighs
TIP: I couldn’t resist, and brought my holga, my digital camera with CCTV lens, and my phone. I used 3 different cameras to capture this place.

The guy/troll on the bridge will start shouting at tourists in chinese during the afternoon where tourists stop mid bridge to take selfies.

And here in the ever expanding void am i chained to the railings of circumstance!
